Seminar held on customs budgetary changes

Post-budget seminar on customs budgetary changes was held on July 18 in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). Shahid Rahim Shaikh, Member Customs CBR presided over the seminar. Member customs while answering the questions of the participants highlighted the need to hold more such seminars to raise the level of awareness of both the officials of the department and taxpayers.
He emphasised that the menace of under invoicing was rampant in Pakistan because of the distortions created by few unscrupulous members of trade in collaboration with some black sheep of the department and stressed upon the need to identify the culprits on both sides and punish them for the benefit of overall health of the economy of Pakistan.
He lauded the efforts of the directorate of training in holding the successful seminar and advised to continue the work on specific topics especially the understanding of harmonised classification code and OATT valuation system.-PR
