Anjuman Ulema-e-Mashaikh Pakistan (AUMP) on Sunday staged a demonstration at MDA chowk to condemn the Israeli aggression on Lebanon and role of United States on this issue. The demo was attended by the traders, Ulema, Mashaikh, Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Tehrik-i-Insaf and PML-F activists and led by Mehmood-ul-Hassan Naqshbandi chief of ANUP.
Former MNA Shaikh Tahir Rashid, District Bar President Athar Shah Bukhari and Tehrik Chief Major Mujib-ur-rehman (Retd) and Tariq Mehmood Malik of Anjuman Tajiran.
The participants were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans, "Down with America, Down with Israel," Stop aggression," let the smaller state survive," stop terrorism."
"We are protesting against the United States and Israel for their aggressive and inhuman policies and they were plotting to gulp the smaller states through invasion. Big countries should come forward to control the situation otherwise it would have serious repercussions," Allama Mehmood-ul-Hassan Naqshbandi said while addressing the demo. "OIC should take practical step to save the Lebanon, Syria, Iran and other Muslim states otherwise US and its allies would eat up other countries," Shaikh Tahir Rashid of PML-Q, central Vice President said.
Jamaat Islami also staged a demonstration in front of Jamia-ul-Aloom led by its central secretary General Syed Munawar Hassan more than 200 activists took part in the demo and they shouted anti US and anti Israel slogans.
