PML-Q elections to strengthen democratic process: Arbab

25 Jul, 2006

Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim talking to PML (Q) leaders who called on him at the Chief Minister's House on Monday said the party elections would strengthen the ongoing democratic process in the country.
Rahim asked his party men to actively participate in the membership campaign and bring as many like-minded people in the party fold as possible. He said that PML was the biggest and the most effective party of Pakistan and it had a role to play in the forthcoming general elections. However, much would depend as to how the party workers and leaders prepare themselves for the elections.
He said that the thumping majority with which the party came into power in recent local body election was enough to tell that the PML (Q) was the only popular and acceptable political party in Pakistan. It had performed well, and it would perform well again, he added. He called upon the people to come forward and play their role in making PML (Q) membership campaign a success.
Among others, PML (Q) Sindh additional general secretary, Senator Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi, was also present. Those who called on the chief minister had come from districts Thatta, Tando Mohammed Khan, Tando Allahyar, Jamshoro, Matiari and Badin.
