Return of normalcy in Waziristan hailed

Leader of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal and member of National Assembly from Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (Fata), Maulana Nek Zaman Haqqani has said that after successful negations between the federal government and the tribal militants, normalcy is returning in the tribal areas and distrust is vanishing between all the relevant quarters.
Addressing a dinner at the Governors Cottage giving in his honour at Miranshah he urged the tribal people to educate themselves and show restraint to prove that tribals are as loyal to the country as like of the other countrymen of Pakistan.
Praising the efforts of the Governor NWFP Ali Muhammad Jan Orakzai, opposition leader in National Assembly Maulana Fazal-ur-Rahman, Chief Minister NWFP Akram Khan Durrani and General Hamid Khan to bring peace in the troubled Waziristan Agencies and hoped that a new chapter of peace and development would be started in the Federally Administrated Tribal Areas.
MNA from Fata demanded the President Musharraf to announce a development package for the uplift of the tribal areas, including provision of basic facilities like clean drinking water, education, health and employment for the tribal youths. He suggested to initiate a programme to promote small industries in the areas.
He also demanded for reconstruction of Miranshah town, which was badly destroyed because of clashes between the paramilitary forces and tribal militants.
On the occasion IGOC Major General Azhar Shah announced the release of 22 local detainees and abolishing of check post from the Miranshah.
Addressing the participants of the dinner IGOC Major General Azhar Shah said that the country is passing through a crucial phase and stressed the need of unity, reconciliation and bridging of differences in the broader interest of the nation. He also hailed the efforts of Maulana Nek Zaman to bring the peace in the tribal areas.
