Malaysian palm exports up

Exports of Malaysian oil palm products for July 1-25 stood at 954,687 tonnes, up 12.4 percent from 849,560 tonnes shipped between June 1 and 25, cargo surveyor Societe General de Surveillance said on Tuesday. SGS said the estimate comprised 871,745 tonnes of palm oils and 82,942 tonnes of oleochemicals and lauric oils.
In the palm oils category, 83,580 tonnes were made up of refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) palm oil, 437,035 tonnes of RBD palm olein, 81,529 tonnes of RBD palm stearin and 158,541 tonnes of crude palm oil.
China was again the biggest buyer of Malaysian oil palm products for July 1-25, taking 372,907 tonnes, followed by the United States with 78,491 tonnes and Pakistan with 52,900 tonnes. European Union countries, another major destination, bought a total 160,222 tonnes.
