Rains predicted in Sindh

29 Jul, 2006

The meteorological office on Friday predicted widespread rains in lower Sindh and scattered rains/thundershowers in rest of the province during next three days.
In its advisory for Sindh and Balochistan issued here, the met department said a weather system was developing over North Rajhistan in India and rains in the province were expected under the influence of this fresh weather system.
The intensity of rain may be high at times in lower Sindh, including Badin, Thatta and Tharparkar districts during this period. Thundershowers are also likely in Karachi on Sunday and Monday.
The eastern and southern parts of Balochistan are likely to receive scattered thundershowers during next three days. During heavy downpours, chances of flash floods in local nullahs of the province cannot be ruled out.
People living in low-lying areas are advised to remain alert during the current wet spell. Fishermen of small boats are also advised to take special care on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
