Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Germany and Poland and our relations were based on common perceptions on international and regional matters of mutual interest.
This was stated by Federal Minister for Interior, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao while talking to German and Polish media delegations who called on him in Ministry of Interior here on Friday.
On this occasion, Director General, National Crisis Management cell, Brigadier Javaid Iqbal Cheema and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Muhammad Anwar Khan were also present.
The Minister for Interior said that Pakistan was fully committed to the war against terrorism and a peaceful Afghanistan was in the best interest of Pakistan and the region. He said that the government and the people of Pakistan were grateful for the assistance provided by the Polish government in the wake of earthquake.
He said that Poland's membership of European Union and Nato will provide further opportunities for co-operation in future. He said that high level exchanges between the two countries would further enhance the existing bond of friendship.
The Minister said that we were desirous of developing greater co-operation with Germany at all levels. We appreciate the German contributions towards Afghanistan both for ISAF and being lead nation for raising/training of Afghan National Police besides economic assistance.
The Minister said that Pakistan had very safe, secure and conducive environment for foreign investment and lot of foreign investors and leading companies were coming to invest here. He said that the government was committed to freedom of press as freedom of expression and development of electronic as well as print media was vital for the development of any country.
