Mi-Swaco donates Rs 0.9 million for quake fund

An Austrian company engaged in oil and gas exploration in Pakistan, Mi-Swaco donated Rs 900,000 to President Earthquake Fund (PEF). George Wachtel General Manager OMV Pakistan presented the cheque to Ahmad Waqar, Secretary Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, said a press release here on Saturday.
Zia Hayder Shah, Area Engineer Mi-Swaco and Peter Preining Drilling Superintendent were also present. OMV Pakistan and Mi-Swaco have been consistently working together over the last 13 years for the exploration of oil and gas in Miano and Sawan fields in Sindh and other areas in Pakistan.
The two companies are applying new drilling fluids technology that has resulted in optimisation of drilling efficiency and discovery of good gas reserves in middle Indus basin in a most cost effective manner. OMV had earlier made substantial donations for quake-victims.
Ahmed Waqar appreciated the donations made by the Austrian companies towards the President's Earthquake Relief Fund and said it would help rehabilitate the affected people.
