31 Jul, 2006

Pakistani and Indian army officials have discussed recent attacks on LoC, but Pakistan said the attacks may have been carried out by groups fighting for freedom in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Indian Army officials provided details of the time and date that LoC came under fire, an army official said on condition of anonymity citing the sensitive nature of the meeting.
He said the Pakistani officials denied that Pakistani troops had fired on Indian positions and said separatist groups operating in the area could have been responsible for the attacks.
It was not immediately clear if the meeting had been scheduled or was sought by India after the firing incidents.
