Karachi receives 100-mgd less water

Various localities were hit by water shortage and sewerage overflow on Sunday as the city received 100-mgd water less than normal supply due to power breakdown at three water pumping stations and four sewerage disposal pumping stations.
A Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) spokesman told PPI that the power supply at Dhabeji, Pipri and Gharo pumping stations remained suspended for around three hours from 1:45 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, which resulted in the water shortfall. He said various localities of the metropolis had also faced sewerage overflow problem due to power outage at Jameela, Clifton, TP-I and TP-II sewerage pumping stations.
