Punjab Excise and Taxation Department is executing the decision of the government to provide 10 percent rebate facility to those motor vehicle owners who will pay annual token tax of their vehicles for the financial year 2006-07 on or before July 31, 2006.
As per details, Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has already decided that only those cases of motor registration, transfer and duplicate motor registration books would be proceed who had cleared the token tax for financial year 2006-2007.
A spokesman of Excise and Taxation Department has asked the owners of vehicles to deposit annual token tax on or before July 31 and avail the facility of 10 percent rebate. He further asked the owners that they must deposit token tax of the vehicle for current financial year before submitting documents to Motor Registration Branch for registration, transfer or duplicate registration book, so that their cases may be processed. Persons intend to purchase vehicles should check the state of yearly token tax of the concerned vehicle as no case of transfer would be entertained if token tax is not cleared, said the spokesman.
