Work on Rs 14 billion motorway project soon

Necessary arrangements are being made to undertake the development work on a mega project of Sialkot-Lahore motorway, costing more than Rs14 billion. Official sources told Business Recorder here on Sunday that it was expected that the initial development work on this mega project would be initiated in middle of August.
The proposed Sialkot-Lahore motorway would consists of four lanes while small industrial estates along with motorway would also be developed for further accelerating the pace of trade and commerce activities.
The completion of motorway would reduce the distance between Sialkot-Lahore and it would open new era of development and create employment opportunities.
Apart from this, more than Rs1.20 billion would be spent on converting the Sialkot-Gujranwala road into dual carriageway while Rs720 million would be utilised on the improvement widening of Sialkot-Eminabad road.
The development work on these projects would be carried out in near future, the sources added.
