01 Aug, 2006

Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister, Hafiz Iqbal Khakwani said general elections would be held in February 2008 and the Muslim League would field highly efficient and well-reputed candidates.
Talking to newsmen at his residence on Monday, he said that there would be no role of corrupt, dishonest, blackmailer, bad reputed and inefficient elements in the next elections.
He said the opposition was paving the way for a martial law and there was no alternate leadership of President General Pervez Musharraf. He ruled out a possibility of any change in near future and said Benazir Bhutto would never take risk to return home and take part in the polls.
