PML, allies must work together for country progress: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that PML and its allied parties should continue to work untidily and in a spirit of brotherhood for the progress of country and the welfare of masses. He was talking to the chief ministers of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan who called on him at the PM House on Wednesday afternoon.
He congratulated Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim and Jam Muhammad Yousuf on being elected the presidents of PML in their provinces and said that this would strengthen democracy in the country.
He also congratulated the party leadership for ensuring free and fair elections in the provinces, which were conducted in an atmosphere of congeniality. The Prime Minister said the government is committed to redeeming every pledge made by it to the people.
He said Pakistan was created as a result of the efforts and sacrifices made by the Muslims of subcontinent under the banner of Muslim League and it is the duty of every Muslim to work for the development and prosperity of Pakistan to make it a truly great country.
The Prime Minister said that the government is committed to transforming Pakistan into a modern, tolerant and enlightened Islamic state in line with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said that Pakistan Muslim League and its allied parties would continue to work for the welfare for the people and promotion of democratic process.
The chief ministers informed the Prime Minister about the steps being taken by their governments to control the price of essential commodities, the measures taken to improve law & order and infrastructure development in their provinces.-PR
