The law and order situation arising from rainfalls in Sindh were reviewed in details at a high level meeting held under the chairmanship of Home Minister Rauf Siddiqi here on Thursday. The meeting was attended by IIG Sindh Jehangir Mirza, CCPO Niaz Ahmed Siddiqi and all the DIGs.
Addressing the meeting Rauf Siddiqi asked the police officers to improve their attitude towards elected representatives, members of parliament and people at large. He said any humiliating behaviour with them will not be tolerated.
The Police Officers, he said should try to immediately solve their genuine problems and in case any complaint is received against any police officer, strict action will be taken against him.
In view of situation arising from monsoon rains, the Home Minister directed the Sindh police officers to join hands with the city government in the relief work and extend full co-operation in setting up medical camps. Rauf appealed to the people to fully co-operate with KESC teams coming for power restoration so that they perform their responsibility without any fear or harassment. He issued directives to police officers with regard to transporters charging fares in Karachi, Hyderabad and interior of Sindh in excess of fixed fares.
