Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 98,756 tonnes of cargo including 79,740 tonnes import, 19,016 tonnes export cargo and 4,727 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 74,806 tonnes dry cargo including 58,999 tonnes general cargo; 2,012 tonnes sugar; 8,270 tonnes fertiliser; 949 tonnes cement; 4,350 tonnes rock phosphate and 23,950 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo.
Nine ships namely Iran Tabatabai, MOL Accord, Ltc Calvin P. Titus, YM Sun, El Temeratio, Dusita Naree, MT Johar, Swift and QSM Musoat sailed out to sea during the report period.
Four vessels viz Tower Bridge, Oel Aishwarya, Global Prosperity and Southern Imperial currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Victoria 1 and Southern Imperial expected to sail on Saturday, while three vessels viz Global Prosperity, Denden and Cape Santiago are expected to sail on Sunday.
Five vessels viz MT Shalamar, Nordwage, Mondena, Cape Santiago and Marnedijk due to arrive on Saturday, while eight ships namely Al-Marwah, Rising One, Corinthiakos, Thor Jasmine, Makran, Scan Bothnia and Ocean Friend are due to arrive on Sunday.
Seven ships namely MOL Silvern Fern, Orient Independence, China Star, Jolbus, Persia, An Yue Jiang and Cosmic Challenger are due to arrive on Monday.

The cargo comprised of 28,297 tonnes crude oil; 3,110 tonnes sugar; 1,310 tonnes cement and 42,772 tonnes containerised cargo.
Two ships namely CV MSC Basel and CV Nedlloyd Muscat sailed out to sea during the report period, while three more ships namely CV MSC America, MV Yong Xiang-9 and MV Adrekni are expected to sail on Saturday.
A total of two vessels viz Al-Mukhtarah, and Constantinos-G are currently at the outer anchorage.
Four ships namely CV San Clemente, CV OEL Asihwaryh, CV MOL Accord and MV Constantinos-G due to take berths on Saturday.
Two vessels viz MT Kisogawa and MT Bright Kosan with LPG and edible oil are due to arrive on Saturday, while four more ships namely CV MOL Silver Fern, CV MSC London, MT Stolt Avenir and MT Arietis with containers, edible oil and furnace oil are due to arrive on Sunday.
PORT QASIM WEEKLY OPERATIONAL ACTIVITY:
A total cargo volume of 358,082 tonnes comprising 266,248 tonnes import and 91,834 tonnes export cargo was handled during last week ending on Friday, 4th August 2006.
The cargo comprised of 99,960 tonnes diesel oil; 3,019 tonnes chemicals; 41,039 tonnes seeds and 214,064 tonnes containerised cargo.
A total of sixteen ships took berths to load/offload the above cargoes, while thirteen vessels sailed out to sea during the reporting week.
