Inflows return to emerging market funds

06 Aug, 2006

Emerging market equity and bond funds posted inflows in the week ended Wednesday, as investors' appetite for risk increased amid hopes the US Federal Reserve may soon stop raising interest rates, Emerging Portfolio Fund Research (EPFR) said on Friday.

Both fund categories had briefly received inflows in the beginning of July, it said, but concerns over rising oil prices spurred by Middle East tensions left investors cautious later in the month.
