Musharraf's efforts for peace lauded

A prominent Chinese magazine 'Lookwe', published a special supplement on Pakistan this month, highlighting the growing co-operation between the two countries in various fields.
It carried special messages from President Pervez Musharraf and the Chinese President Hu Jintao on the occasion of 55th anniversary of establishment of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations, in which the two leaders renewed their pledge to push forward their strategic partnership to a new height.
Musharraf expressed confidence that their joint endeavours to promote socio-economic advancement, build security and bring prosperity for their people and the region will succeed. He noted that the two countries in the recent past took some far-reaching steps to reinforce their traditional friendship, translating it into strong and vibrant economic partnership.
The magazine also published a brief biography of President Musharraf, paying tributes to his leadership for his consistent efforts promoting peace, stability and development in the region and the world as a whole.
In a cover-page report, titled 'A great President', the magazine stated Musharraf envisions Pakistan as a modern and moderate Islamic State. His bold initiatives to ensure Pakistan's steady progress on the road to sustainable economic and social development have been internationally praised, it added.
Pakistan ambassador to China Salman Bashir in his message said that their friendship based on solid trust and complete mutual understanding.
