'MMA will not support no-trust move'

07 Aug, 2006

The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) "is our indirect coalition partner and we expect it will not support ARD in its move to table no-trust motion against the government". This was stated by Federal Information Minister, Muhammad Ali Durrani, at a news conference here held at a hotel on Sunday.
He said that in case the alliance favoured ARD, how its leadership would face their workers? He said that the leadership of the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy (ARD), at a sitting in London, had decided to table no-trust motion against the Shaukat Aziz-led government but failed to implement the decision. It was now trying to get the support of MMA, he added.
The Minister said that the present government was fully stable and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz was enjoying overwhelming support from parliamentarians of all parties.
