Population Welfare Department Punjab (PWDP) has assigned a target for its officers to train 2,940 female religious leaders about the negative aspects of rapidly growing population and its effects on personal family as well as national development.
The training would be conducted at district, tehsil and union council level during the current fiscal year under the umbrella of social mobilisation programme. Provincial Minister for Population Welfare, Naseem Lodhi has disclosed this while presiding over a meeting, which was attended by concerned officers.
She told that these female religious leaders, 340 from district, 600 from tehsil and 2000 from union council level, would be trained through group meetings, seminars and orientation workshops arranged by the PWDP.
