Canal flooding destroys crops

Sadiq Canal breaching has submerged standing crops on hundreds of acres and displaced the area people to safer places. Heavy monsoon downpours reportedly had raised the water level of the canal that breached at its left bank and gushing water through it overtook nearby village Chak 139 forcing the residents to shift from the locality and inundated standing crops.
District administration was trying to save the right bank of the canal by raising heaps of earth.
