HEC holds workshop on ELT methodology

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has conducted a workshop to enable English faculty of public sector institutions to cope up with the challenges of latest English language teaching techniques.
The workshop was held by Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), a sub-committee of English Language Teaching Reforms (ELTR) project of the HEC here at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU).
The other aim of the Master Trainer workshop was to make the English language faculty capable to adapt and learn the new trends that were rising in ELT methodology.
The Resource person of the workshop was Anniqua Rana from Canada College, USA; the International Consultant of CALL subcommittee, who was on her annual visit for CALL subcommittee activities.
The International Consultant headed the workshop as a trainer in which 15 faculty members from public sector universities all over the country participated and gave an excellent feedback.
The workshop was followed by a seminar held on the same venue. Executive Director HEC, Dr Sohail Naqvi was the chief guest on the occasion, while Vice Chancellor, AIOU, Dr Mahmood H Butt, was also present at the inauguration of the seminar who shared his thoughts about HEC's efforts on ELT and faculty development.
DG (LI), HEC, Noor Amna also shared her views about the success of CALL workshop and appreciated the efforts of participants. Heads of the Departments of English from various institutions of higher learning, who were participating in the seminar, appreciated the organisation.
