The Director General National Agricultural Research Centre Islamabad (NARC) Dr Muhammad Afzal on Monday said that Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock would soon introduce high efficiency irrigation system to bring a quantum jump in quality and yield of agriculture production.
Speaking in a TV programme, he said that aim to introduce high efficiency irrigation system in agricultural sector was to utilise limited available water for more crops to make agriculture as a profitable business for small farmers.
Dr Afzal said the ministry is also advising farmers to cultivate demand driven products. To a question, he said the ministry is also exploring more markets for Pakistan's agricultural products.
