ICG president meets Salman

The President and the Chief Executive Officer of the International Crisis Group Gareth Evans and Dr Samina Ahmed, the South Asia Project Director called on Dr Salman Shah, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs and statistics on Tuesday.
The advisor informed the Group President about different aspects of Pakistan's economy. He said that Pakistan has a vigorous and vibrant Parliament and there is total freedom of media and speech in the country.
He said that the economy was growing at a fairly rapid step. He said that the Pakistani stock exchange had outperformed at a market by a wide margin and was a strong indicator of the confidence of the Pakistani and foreign investors in Pakistan's economy. He said that Pakistan floated 30 years government bonds recently and received excellent response.
