An accused arrested for keeping drugs died in police custody at the Mominabad police station late on Monday night. Nisar Ahmad, 35, was arrested on Sunday from Haryana Colony of Orangi Township and was to be produced in the court on Tuesday morning and was kept in the lockup where, the police claimed, his condition suddenly deteriorated.
While he was being taken to hospital in a police mobile, he died before he could be provided with medical aid, the police claimed.
