To highlight the image of women in the country's development efforts, a 'Women's Expo' will be held in Lahore from September 8 to 10, 2006 by 'Fourth Dimension Pvt Ltd' in collaboration with government, non-government organisations (NGOs), and corporate and public sectors.
According to programme organisers, one of the chief aims behind these positive activities in the country is to narrow the gap among the government, non-government organisations (NGOs), and corporate and public sectors.
This will also help the women participants to gather at an interactive platform from all over the country, and provide a chance to exchange views to improve their life-style and patterns.
They said: After the marathon tasks, thank God, we are able to arrange these effective and objective programmes in our cities. All credit goes to the government, which is helping in nation-building development works."
In this regard, they also appreciated the role of a former minister for Women Development, Nilofer Bakhtiar, who played a very positive role in providing all sorts of facilities to rural and urban women.
Sindh minister for women development, Dr Saeeda Malik is very much enthusiastic in helping women in development work. The government and organisers of these events were encouraged by the thumping success of women's expo held on April 13-16 at Karachi Expo Centre this year.
Leading economists, women entrepreneurs, bankers, All Pakistan Women's Association (APWA), Pakistan Women's Lawyers Association (APWA) and artists, President of the First Women's Bank (FWB), Zarine Aziz, Fatima Bajia, Rshida Patal thanked the government and NGOs for providing the golden chance to the women to improve their standard of life.
They expect that these healthy events will be arranged by the government in the future to help women in facing the challenges.
Most of the women of the country are not educated and live in villages. They are deprived of the benefits of new advancement and remain confined under old and traditional boundaries. They must try to come out of old traditions.
They also urged the women to educate their daughters and try to create awareness of their rights in the society and try to avail the chances of better education and training at home level.
