Revised design of project at River Chenab approved

Planning and Development Board Punjab (P&D) has given approval to the revised design and cost of the project of construction of J-head and a guide-head spur at river Chenab in district Multan at a cost of Rs 167.435 million.
According to a P&D spokesman here on Tuesday, the project of construction of J-head Spur between RD 151 and 152 of Chenab flood bund and extending guide-head spur at RD 920 of Nawabpur flood bund, on river Chenab, district Multan, have been revised.
Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved the modified design and cost. Earlier the estimated cost of Rs 141.00 million was approved while enhanced cost Rs 167.435 million has been approved because of increase in volume of work.
The spokesman further said that PDWP had recently approved another similar scheme for construction of a sloping spur and a guide wall at river Jhelum to protect village Megha Kadhi District Sargodha against the erosion of river at a cost of Rs 69.443 million.
