Huge salt reserves exist in Punjab: minister

There are huge reserves of salt in Punjab province, which would be more than sufficient in next five centuries and strategy had been evolved to enhance the income of department by exporting natural salt and salt made items to various countries.
Punjab Mines and Minerals Minister Muhammad Sibtain Khan expressed these views while talking to a delegation of mine owners, here on Tuesday, disclosed an official. The minister said that the income of mineral resources had been increased from Rs 30 million to Rs 40 million during last two years, which would enhance up to Rs 50 million during the next year.
