The killer of a Shia leader was executed on Wednesday in Multan jail after the President rejected his mercy plea. Hafiz Shafiur Rahman was arrested in 1997 for killing district President of Tehrik-e-Jaafria Ijaz Shah.
The lower judge convicted him and the apex courts upheld the ruling. Hafiz Rahman was a member of banned religious outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.
