Pakistan Kisan Mohaz (PKM) has urged the government to ensure implementation of agriculture reforms. Addressing a press conference at Press Club here on Friday, the PKM chief, Rana Ghulam Mustafa also observed for improved agri marketing systems so that small farmers were assured a fair price for their produce.
He asked the government for concessions in agri taxes and that Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) should charge minimum power tariff from farmers for their tubewells, as well as for poultry and dairy farms. Agri co-operative societies may be directed to provide interest-free loans to groups of 10 to 20 small farmers to install processing units, he said.
