Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry's (FPCCI) Standing Committee on Public Utilities Chairman Asghar A Morawala has urged the Sindh government that the inspection of industrial units in the province should not be done in the manner that it opened the doors to harassment and corruption.
In a letter to Sindh Minister for Irrigation and Power Sardar Nadir Akmal Khan Leghari, Morawala said the FPCCI was receiving complaints of harassment by the electrical inspectors of the Irrigation and Power Department.
Morawala urged the minister to stop the inspections and harassment and also asked him to instruct all concerned that no physical inspection should be conducted.
He suggested that revenue fee challans should be sent through courier service only.
He said the provincial government should provide list of defaulters to the FPCCI, adding the federation would press its members to pay the dues on time.-PR
