Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has approved multi-storey residential apartment's project worth Rs 40 million for the staff of Jinnah Hospital. This was announced by Jinnah Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Ejaz Ahmed Sheikh while addressing a function held in connection with Independence Day functions on Monday, a spokesman of the hospital said here on Tuesday.
Dr Ejaz said that work on the project will commence next month. Earlier, a flag hoisting ceremony was held in the hospital ground, where doctors, nurses and other staff attended.
A competition of patriotic songs was also held at the nurse's hostel, where students wore green Dupattas and sported green and white bangles, the colours of the national flag. Special prayers were offered for the wellbeing of the patients, and for national progress and solidarity.
