17 Aug, 2006

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani has said that details of decisions of Supreme Court against Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif would be made public soon.
Addressing a news conference at the Cafeteria of Parliament House on Wednesday, he asked the opposition to immediately bring the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister. He advised the opposition to respect the constitution and the Parliament and invited it to take part in the privatisation process of Pakistan Steel Mills.
Durrani warned that if any member under Article 63-A of the constitution voted against the policy of the party, his membership will be cancelled.
"Opposition should bring the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister immediately and not waste the time of the Parliament", the information minister said.
The no-confidence motion is merely a drama, which will met to failure, he said, adding opposition is trying to waste the time of the Parliament through debates and create hurdles in legislation process.
The minister said opposition is trying to get attention of the masses through its announcements. He said opposition was involving in thumping tasks for one year and it is not ready to bring people and national issues in the Parliament.
"The opposition members are criticising the privatisation of Steel Mills only for personal gains", he said.
He said no scandal could be brought to public against President and the Prime Minister in seven years.
Durrani said opposition itself is involved in contempt of court by levelling corruption allegations, as court has not mentioned about the corruption. He said how the corrupt politicians who owned Surrey Palace could level allegations of corruption.
The information minister also said that those who attacked the Supreme Court have no moral values to criticise the government. He said details of the decisions of Supreme Court against Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif will be made public soon.
He said Benazir Bhutto gave wrong figures while declaring her assets. He demanded that the corruption cases of the former rulers should be heard in the court.
