'Forests effectual to enhance national economy'

District Nazim Lakki Marwat, Humayun Saifullah Khan has urged upon social, political and welfare organisations to plant more trees as forests play vital role in enhancing the national economy besides sustaining life on earth.
He expressed these views while planting a sapling of araucaria at district secretariat in Lakki Marwat on Wednesday. Executive District Officer (EDO) Agriculture, Haji Muhammad Taslim Khan, EDO Finance, Haji Naimatullah Khan, EDO Accounts, Haji Shamal Khan and other high officials also planted different kinds of plants.
Speaking on the occasion, Humayun Saifullah Khan said that the district government was taking revolutionary steps for the promotion of forests and agricultural sector. He added that forests and trees were the beauty of the nation as they play a significant role in maintaining the eco-system besides combating environmental pollution.
District Nazim said that forests help in cleaning environment and arrest soil erosion and flash floods, which is a serious problem in the present days.
Later, he along with incharge District Forestry Sector, Naqeebullah Khan reviewed various kinds of plants in the district complex and expressed satisfaction over the performance of the department of forestry.
