Kenyan High Commissioner to Pakistan Mrs Mishi Masika Mwatsahu has said that her government has adopted a liberal policy for attracting foreign investment and establishment of joint ventures in Kenya. Addressing the members of Surgical Instrument Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (Simap) here on Wednesday.
She said that wide opportunities for Pakistani business community for setting up their individual business or in joint venture are available. The Kenyan and Pakistan governments were making adequate efforts for expanding the economic co-operation and boosting bilateral trade activities between the two countries, she said.
She said that both Kenya and Pakistan were enjoying highly friendly relations since long and these relations of bilateral and economic co-operation would pave the way for further strengthening them in future. The Kenyan government was making adequate arrangements for improving the security for providing protection to the tourists and foreign businessmen and the security arrangements would surely provide the protection to the foreigners, she added.
The Kenyan High Commissioner called upon Simap to constitute a delegation for a visit to Kenya to explore possibilities of establishing joint ventures as well as studying the demand of Kenyan market. She said that Kenyan government had focused its attention on further promoting the bilateral trade activities with Pakistan. It is high time the businessmen of the two friendly countries should make collective efforts for the promotion and expansion of bilateral trade between Kenya and Pakistan.
In his address of welcome, Simap Chairman Naeem Qureshi assured that a trade delegation would visit Kenya for exploring the possibilities of widening of bilateral trade between the two countries. In order to ensure the visit businessmen engaged with the surgical industry should be granted visa on the recommendation of Simap, he demanded. Qureshi said that business community of Sialkot extends its full co-operation for enhancing bilateral trade with Kenya.
