Disaster Research Institute (DRI) Preston University, Pakistan, and Designmen Ltd Islamabad signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MIE University, Japan on Friday for collaborative research and development in mitigation of disasters.
The collaborate activities include sharing of information and experiences of respective countries through workshops and video conferences, mutual visits of researchers, and joint research projects and experiments, says a press release. The collaborative research will cover the R&D activities under three projects, namely System for Estimation and Management of Seismic Risk of Buildings, Feasible and Affordable Seismic Constru-ctions, and Strategies for dissemination of Technologies.
