Kamal inaugurates 'Red Top Cabs'

City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has inaugurated 'Red Top Cabs', the urban city transportation project, launched by Messrs Optimus Limited (MOL), said a press release issued here on Friday.
Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director, Pak Suzuki Motor Company Ltd, DCO, Fazalur Rehman, EDO Transport Muhammad Athar and other city government officials were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony at the Behria Complex, Mustafa Kamal said city government was making efforts to provide comfortable transportation facilities to general public. "In order to increase revenue collection, the basic civic infrastructure is required to be strengthened," he added.
In the first phase 100 air-conditioned Red Tops geared up to ply on the roads of Karachi, while our target is to produce 1000 such taxis, Mustafa maintained.
He said, "the people of Karachi were in anxious need of a clean, reliable and safe mode of public transportation system, and I am happy that the Red Top Cabs have taken the first step in this direction."
He congratulated the Messrs Optimus Ltd for running the cab service in the metropolis.
Saad Faruqui, CEO of Optimus Limited while addressing the gathering at the opening ceremony said, "the Red Top Cab service is aimed at providing comfortable and economical means of transportation to the citizens of Karachi".-PR
