Pakistan has better human rights record: adviser

Adviser to Punjab government on Law and Human Rights Rana Ejaz Ahmed said Pakistan is better than many other countries in its human rights record. Talking to a 17-member delegation of lawyers at his office, here on Friday, he said the government policies provide equal opportunities and facilitate access to justice to the weaker sections of society.
He said that minorities were enjoying equal rights in all sectors of national life. The lot of prisoners is also being improved, as they are being provided quality food and healthcare.
He urged the lawyers to form free legal aid bodies to facilitate access to justice for those who lack resources.
