Rs 6.7 million being distributed to promote special education

With a view to promoting public-private partnership Special Education Department is distributing Rs 6.7 million among special education institutions established by non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
Provincial Minister for Special Education, Qudsia Lodhi, stated this during a meeting with a delegation of NGOs working for the promotion of special education.
She said that mutual co-operation between public and private sectors were the key to success in every sector. She added that grant was being given to the institutions working for four kinds of disability, keeping in view their performance, number of children, available facilities, number of teachers, necessary equipment, buildings and other arrangements.
She said that senior officers of the department visit these institutions from time to time and review services being extended by them. She said that Special Education Department monitors performance and available facilities in all the institutions.
