Night landing facility at Quetta airport soon

Federal Defence Ministry has approved the provision of night landing facility at Quetta airport and the facility would soon be available as all the arrangements are being finalised in this regard at a cost of Rs 82 million.
This was informed in a meeting, which was held here on Saturday with the Chief Secretary K.B Rind in the chair.
"The runway of the airport will be extended and for this purpose the required land has been acquired. The owners of the land have also been paid the compensation amount", the meeting was informed.
Compensation cheques have also been paid to Qesco, PTCL, SSGC and Wasa for removal of their installations from the site, it was added. The chief secretary directed for accelerating the pace of work on the night landing facility project at the airport and said that another meeting would soon be called to review the progress.
Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Base Commander Pakistan Air Force Samungli, DCO Quetta and representatives of PTCL, Wasa, Qesco, SSGC and district government attended the meeting.
