The development work on mega project of Sialkot-Lahore motorway costing Rs 20 billion would be initiated shortly. Official sources told Business Recorder here on Sunday that necessary arrangements for undertaking the development work on the project were being given final touches.
Along with Sialkot-Lahore motorway, three industrial estates would also be established for further accelerating the pace of trade and commerce activities on this track. The accomplishment of the mega project of Sialkot-Lahore motorway would not only reduce the travelling distance between Sialkot-Lahore but also provide better and save travelling facilities to the masses.
In addition to this, the concerned departments of the Punjab government were busy in selecting suitable land for setting up three industrial estates and two universities along with the proposed Sialkot-Lahore motorway.
These projects would go a long way in the development of these areas besides generation of thousand employment opportunities for the skilled, semiskilled and educated persons, sources added.
