Residences for employees of Governor House, a medical centre and a dairy farm would be constructed in Governor House at a cost of Rs 51.022 million. Punjab Minister for Communication and Works, Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-Din Khan stated this while presiding over a meeting, here on Monday. The meeting also reviewed the pace of work of ongoing schemes in Governor House.
It was informed that 12 residences for the employees of grade 1 to 4 and 4 residences for grade 11 to 14 were being constructed in Governor House. Besides, a dairy farm, medical centre, dhobi ghat (laundry), garages and stores would also be constructed in the same premises.
The total cost of these schemes is Rs 51.022 million. A sum of Rs 4 million has been spent up to June 2006 and Rs 20 million have been earmarked for the current fiscal year for these schemes.
The meeting was further told that reconstruction and repair work of boundary wall in Governor House would be completed this year with a cost of Rs 20 million.
The minister directed the chief engineer works to accelerate the pace of work on the project. He warned that negligence would not be tolerated in this regard.
