Punjab Co-operative Department has finally streamlined strategy to recover Rs 15 million agriculture loans from south Punjab borrowers and directed the officials of Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan zones to ensure the swift recovery.
The department warned the inefficient officials to improve their performance, otherwise stern actions would be taken against them instead of sparing at any level.
This was decided at a meeting of 13 district officers of Co-operative Societies Department and co-operative bank zonal managers with Punjab Co-operative Registrar Hassan Iqbal in the chair here on Saturday.
The registrar said that new registration of co-operative societies had completely been stopped till further orders, however societies, being established for agriculture, would be registered following Punjab Chief Minister's approval.
He asked the district officers to prepare them for regular annual inspection while the district officers must ensure inspection of their subordinates.
