Pakistan Railways is providing the service of e-ticketing in 24 trains and 51 cities across the country to facilitate the passengers, an official in the Ministry of Railways told APP.
The official said that Pakistan Railways sold tickets through credit cards, UBL Omni and mobile accounts since the inauguration of e-ticketing system in the department two months ago.
To a question, he said that the data show that e-ticketing facility has benefitted people living in small and far-flung areas of the country.
He said that Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique extending congratulations to the Pakistan Railways' employees described this achievement as a beginning of a new era of modernization and development.
In a message, he advised the information technology wing of the Pakistan Railways to start the facility of e-ticketing in the Jaffer Express, Bolan Mail and Akbar Express to facilitate the people of Balochistan.
