Baghwandas takes oath as acting Chief Justice

Justice Rana Baghwandas, the senior-most judge of the Supreme Court after Chief Justice of Pakistan, took oath here on Wednesday as acting Chief Justice of Pakistan. Supreme Court of Pakistan Judge Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar administered oath in the oath-taking ceremony, began with the recitation from the Holy Quran in the SC ceremonial Hall.
The ceremony was attended by SC Judges, Attorney General of Pakistan Makhdoom Ali Khan, law officers, advocates and advocates on records besides senior officers of the SC. Justice Rana Baghwandas will perform his duties as Acting Chief Justice during the absence of CJ Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, who has left for abroad.
