Lahore High Court on Thursday reserved its verdict in a petition filed by District Nazim Kasur Rana Muhammad Hayat, who prayed to the court to direct the respondents to release funds for implementation of the schemes approved by the district assembly in accordance with the law.
The petitioner contended that despite getting his budget passed in accordance with the law, the respondents DCO and chief executive officer (Finance and Budget) were not releasing funds for the development programmes. He said that the respondents were not co-operating with him because he belongs to an opposition party.
He, therefore, prayed to the court to declare the budget approved in accordance with the law and direct the respondents to release the funds for development schemes. The court after hearing all the parties at length reserved its verdict.
