Exploration of new coal reserves stressed

Punjab Mines and Minerals Minister Muhammad Sibtain Khan has directed to speed up exploration work for new coal reserves in the province and identify the areas, which are rich in coal.
While presiding over a meeting of the department here on Thursday, the Minister said that the exploration work in the adjacent areas of Chakwal, Rawalpindi and Mianwali should be started immediately and modern equipment should be used for this purpose.
The Minister further directed the concerned officers to start survey for the identification of areas of coal reserves and submit him a complete report. The meeting also reviewed the facilities being extended to the mine owners and mine workers.
