Various teams of Mepco sub-divisions in Multan conducted surprise raids in Hasanabad, Bosan Road, Hassan Parwana, Nawan Shehr, Industrial Estate and New Multan sub-divisions and other areas of Multan city and caught 165 consumers red-handed while stealing power.
The teams also imposed a total fine of Rs 680,000 on the consumers besides cutting off their power connections. According to details, Hasanabad sub-division team caught 22 consumers on power theft and fined them Rs 90,000 while another team caught 19 consumers in Bosan Road sub-division and fined them Rs 79,000. Similarly a team caught 29 consumers in Industrial Estate sub-division and fined them Rs 116,000.
New Multan sub-division team caught 16 consumers and fined them Rs 65,000 while Pakgate sub-division team caught 26 consumers and fined them Rs 160,000. Shah Ruken-i-Alam sub-division team caught 23 consumers and fined them Rs 110,000 while City sub-division team caught 30 consumers and fined them Rs 123,000.
