The Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-Din has said that approval has been granted by the competent authority for the construction of two more sections of Lahore Ring Road (LRR), Khaira Distributory interchange and road portion form Khaira Distributory to Ferozepur Road, with a cost of Rs 2688.922 million.
He stated this while presiding over a meeting here on Friday. Secretary C&W Ahmed Yar Khan, Additional Secretary (Technical), Chief Engineer Highway, Superintending Engineer and XEN Road Construction also attended the meeting. The meeting was informed that interchange would be constructed at Khaira Distributory with a cost of Rs 823.145 million.
Likewise, approval has been accorded for the construction of road portion from Khaira Distributory to Ferozepur Road with an amount of Rs 1865.777 million. The meeting also reviewed pace of work on Lahore Ring Road. Secretary C&W informed that work on LRR is in full swing.
The Minister directed the Chief Engineer Highway to monitor the construction work on this public welfare project so that it could be completed timely. He also directed that construction material should be tested through research lab to ensure the quality of work.
