Lawson wants regional sales jump

Lawson Software Inc, which claims to be the world's third-largest developer of software to help run businesses, hopes to boost Asian revenue to nearly $100 million in two years from near-zero before it bought Sweden's Intentia in April.
Lawson, which aims to compete with much bigger rivals SAP A.G. and Oracle Corp, would have since picked up some $60-$70 million of annual revenue in the Asia Pacific, almost all of it via Intentia, Chief Executive Harry Debes told Reuters in an interview.
The firm - which develops software to handle accounting, staffing, sales and production for mid-sized businesses - expects regional revenue to climb to $75 million to $76.5 million in fiscal year 2007, accounting for about a 10th of forecast global turnover, Debes said.
